Best fitShopify stores from first sale to large support teams that want WhatsApp inside Shopify.Small teams that want a chatbot builder and Instagram rules in the same tool.

For a Shopify store, pick WhatFlow over Getgabs. WhatFlow is built into Shopify (admin extensions, native Shopify Flow triggers and actions, COD confirmation that tags orders), every feature is on every plan including Free, and the team inbox has no seat fees or agent cap. Getgabs is a budget-friendly WhatsApp tool, but it caps agents by plan and needs a paid subscription for the full feature set.

A quick correction while we're here. Plenty of merchants still file WhatFlow under "unofficial WhatsApp apps for tiny shops". That's out of date. WhatFlow WhatsApp Business API runs on the official Meta Cloud API, connected with Meta Embedded Signup from Shopify admin, and it's built for teams of any size. Our older linked-device app, WhatFlow Chat Automation, is a separate entry-level product.

How much does Getgabs cost compared with WhatFlow?

On Shopify, Getgabs lists two paid plans as of November 2026:

  • Plus: $11/month ($109/year), 3 team inbox agents, 500,000 broadcasts a month, catalog and automation.
  • Pro: $59/month ($589/year), 10 team inbox agents, unlimited broadcasts.

Its direct pricing page lists extra agents as an add-on without a published price. Meta's message fees sit on top, as they do for every official-API app.

Headline prices are low, so the real question is what happens as your team grows.

WhatFlow's numbers don't move with headcount. Free covers 100 sends, Starter is $4.99 for 2,000, Plus is $9.99 for 5,000 and Growth is $29 for 20,000. Full details are on the pricing page. The jump from 3 to 4 people on Getgabs is a jump from $11 to $59. On WhatFlow, adding the fourth person costs nothing. Our post on auditing Shopify app costs shows how to spot that kind of step change before it hits your card.

Which one fits Shopify workflows better?

Getgabs lists abandoned cart recovery, COD confirmation, COD-to-prepaid conversion, order notifications and broadcasts. Those are the right jobs. WhatFlow does them through Shopify's own automation tool.

With WhatFlow, WhatsApp shows up inside Shopify Flow as triggers (incoming message, order reply) and actions (send a template, text or media). So you can build:

  1. Trigger: order created with payment method COD.
  2. Action: send the WhatFlow COD confirmation template.
  3. Trigger: customer taps a reply button.
  4. Action: tag the order cod-confirmed, or flag it for review if they cancel.
Hi Sara, your order #3310 (AED 189, cash on delivery) is ready to pack. Can you confirm? [Confirm order] [Cancel order]

Because it's Shopify Flow, the same workflow can also run actions from other apps that support Flow. Shopify Sidekick can draft it from a plain-English prompt.

All of that is on WhatFlow's Free plan. There's no upgrade step to reach a feature.

Is WhatFlow enterprise-ready?

Yes. The WhatFlow team inbox has assignment, filters, saved replies and live catalog sharing from the chat. A 30-person team uses it at the same seat cost as a solo founder: zero. Templates go through Meta's official approval, business profiles are green-tick eligible through Meta, and Shopify Flow handles automation at volume.

Getgabs' Pro plan covers 10 agents, and every agent beyond that is an add-on you'll need to price with them. If you're hiring for peak season, that's another conversation each time. With WhatFlow, you just invite people.

How do you switch from Getgabs to WhatFlow?

Moving is a short checklist, and the order matters:

Abandoned checkout reminder delay and example message in WhatFlow
The demo checkout reminder shows the delay, selected template and example message preview.
  1. Install WhatFlow WhatsApp Business API from the Shopify App Store and start on the Free plan.
  2. Connect your WhatsApp number through Meta Embedded Signup inside Shopify admin. If the number is still connected to Getgabs, ask them how to release or migrate it first.
  3. Recreate your key templates in WhatFlow's template editor (COD confirmation, abandoned checkout, shipping update) and submit them to Meta for approval.
  4. Export your Getgabs contact list and note which auto-triggers you rely on, then rebuild the important ones (COD, cart recovery, order updates) as Shopify Flow workflows with WhatFlow actions.
  5. Invite your whole team to the inbox. There's no seat fee, so include the warehouse and weekend cover too.
  6. Turn on the theme-matched chat button and send yourself a test order before going live.

When Getgabs might still make sense

Pick Getgabs if you specifically want a drag-and-drop chatbot builder, Instagram automation rules and WhatsApp forms in one dashboard, and your team will stay at three people or fewer. WhatFlow has no built-in AI bot or chatbot builder. For AI help, WhatFlow's MCP connector lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor draft replies a person approves.

The bottom line

WhatFlow gives a Shopify store more for less friction: the official Meta Cloud API, native Shopify Flow automation, COD confirmation that updates orders, live catalog sharing, a free-forever theme-matched WhatsApp button and a team inbox with no seat fees, all on the Free plan. Start free and grow your team without changing plans.
