If you sell on Shopify, choose WhatFlow over Callbell. WhatFlow is a Shopify app: WhatsApp triggers and actions live in Shopify Flow, COD confirmations tag orders, every feature is on the Free plan, and the team inbox has no seat fees. Callbell is a solid multichannel inbox, but it bills every agent, adds €20 per WhatsApp account and reaches Shopify through Zapier.
Both products use official WhatsApp access, so this isn't an "official vs unofficial" fight. And if you still think of WhatFlow as the unofficial-API app for tiny shops, that picture is years old. WhatFlow WhatsApp Business API runs on the official Meta Cloud API, connects through Meta Embedded Signup inside Shopify admin and is built for teams of any size. The question is which one does more for a Shopify store, for less.

How much does Callbell cost compared with WhatFlow?
Callbell prices per agent. As of November 2026:
- Multi-agent chat: €14 per agent per month.
- Multi-agent chat Plus: €18 per agent per month, adding advanced analytics, API and integrations, and a verified-badge request.
- Enterprise: custom pricing for 50+ agents, with SAML/SSO.
- WhatsApp account: €20 per account per month.
- WhatsApp campaigns: €0.02 per contact reached.
- Advanced bot builder: €59 per month.
Say your store has eight people in the inbox and sends one 3,000-contact campaign a month.
Monthly cost before Meta fees | Callbell | Callbell Plus | WhatFlow |
|---|---|---|---|
8 agents | €112 | €144 | $0 |
WhatsApp account | €20 | €20 | $0 |
3,000-contact campaign | €60 | €60 | Within plan |
Total | €192 | €224 | $9.99 (Plus, 5,000 sends) |
Meta's per-message charges apply to both, so they don't change the gap. Our WhatsApp Business API pricing guide covers how Meta bills templates since the October 2026 changes, and WhatFlow's current plans are on the pricing page.
The pattern matters more than the totals. With per-agent pricing, adding your warehouse lead or a seasonal temp is a budget decision. With WhatFlow's no-seat-fee inbox, it's just an invite.
Which one fits Shopify workflows better?
This is the biggest gap. Callbell's own documentation connects Shopify through a Zapier Zap: a "New Paid Order" trigger in Shopify, then a Callbell "Create Message" action that's limited to text messages. That's a usable notification, but it's an external bridge you build and maintain in Zapier.
WhatFlow runs inside Shopify. WhatsApp shows up in Shopify Flow as native triggers (incoming message, order reply) and actions (send template, text, media). So a customer's reply can change the order itself:

Hi Diego, your order #5521 (cash on delivery, R$ 260) is ready. Shall we send it out? [Confirm order] [Cancel order]
A Confirm tap tags the order cod-confirmed. Cancel can flag it for review. No copy-pasting order numbers between tools. Our guide to Flow vs Zapier for WhatsApp explains why staying inside Shopify is easier to maintain.

WhatFlow also covers the rest of the Shopify job list on every plan: abandoned checkout recovery, order and shipping updates, live catalog sharing from the inbox, and a free-forever theme-matched WhatsApp button.
Is WhatFlow ready for a large team?
Yes. The WhatFlow team inbox has assignment, filters, saved replies and catalog sharing in the conversation. Templates go through Meta's official approval, business profiles are green-tick eligible through Meta, and Shopify Flow handles automation at volume.
When testing WhatFlow and Callbell, ask: How do you prioritize chats before their service window closes? In WhatFlow, use Needs reply and Closing soon, claim a conversation, then check Shopify order context and leave a private note. The team inbox walkthrough gives you a repeatable test for two agents, with no per-seat fee.
Callbell is built for teams too, and its Enterprise tier targets 50+ agents. But at €14 to €18 per head, a 30-person team is €420 to €540 a month in seats alone. On WhatFlow, those 30 people cost nothing in seats.
How do you switch from Callbell to WhatFlow?
Moving is a short checklist, and the order matters:
- Install WhatFlow WhatsApp Business API from the Shopify App Store and start on the Free plan.
- Connect your WhatsApp number through Meta Embedded Signup inside Shopify admin. If the number is still connected to Callbell, ask them how to release or migrate it first.
- Recreate your key templates in WhatFlow's template editor (COD confirmation, abandoned checkout, shipping update) and submit them to Meta for approval.
- Turn off the Zapier Zaps that send Shopify order messages through Callbell, so customers don't get the same text twice, then rebuild them as Shopify Flow workflows with WhatFlow actions.
- Invite your whole team to the inbox. There's no seat fee, so include the warehouse and weekend cover too.
- Turn on the theme-matched chat button and send yourself a test order before going live.
When Callbell might still make sense
Pick Callbell if you need one inbox for Telegram, TikTok and Messenger as much as WhatsApp, or if you're not on Shopify at all. Callbell also offers AI agents. WhatFlow has no built-in AI bot, but WhatFlow's MCP connector lets you connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to draft replies a person approves.
The bottom line
For a Shopify store, WhatFlow does the WhatsApp job inside Shopify, on the official Meta Cloud API, for a fraction of the cost. Native Shopify Flow automation, COD confirmation, catalog sharing and a team inbox with no seat fees all come on the Free plan. Start free and invite the whole team.
