For most Shopify stores, WhatFlow beats Zoko on cost and on how well it fits into Shopify. WhatFlow includes every feature on every plan, its team inbox has no seat fees, and automations run in native Shopify Flow at no extra charge. Zoko is a good catalog-led commerce app, but on Plus you pay $15 per agent beyond five and $5.99 a month for each custom flow.
Worth saying up front: WhatFlow WhatsApp Business API uses the official Meta Cloud API, and it's built for teams that handle real volume. You get inbox assignment and filters, no seat fees however big the team gets, Shopify Flow automation, COD confirmation, live catalog sharing and Shopify admin extensions. A brand-new store can still start on the Free plan. Our linked-device Chat Automation app is a separate, older entry-level product.

How much does Zoko cost for a real team?
Zoko's pricing is fair for what it is, but it has three moving parts: a base plan, agents, and custom flows. Here's how they add up.
Say your store has eight people in WhatsApp (four support agents, a lead, two warehouse staff, one weekend cover) and runs three custom automations: a COD confirmation, a post-delivery review request and a winback. You send about 4,000 messages a month.
Monthly app cost before Meta fees | Zoko Plus | WhatFlow Plus |
|---|---|---|
Base plan | $79.99 (5,000 conversations) | $9.99 (5,000 sends) |
Extra agents (3) | $45.00 | $0 |
Custom flows, if all 3 are custom | $17.97 | $0 |
Total | $142.96 | $9.99 |
If Zoko's built-in flows cover some of those automations, that line shrinks; the agent charge doesn't. Zoko Starter avoids agent charges, but it's $49.99 plus $0.015 per conversation, and custom flows still cost extra. Note that Zoko bills conversations and WhatFlow bills sent messages, so the units aren't identical. Even so, the gap is wide. Zoko's Plus plan explanation separates its fees from Meta's, and Meta charges apply to both apps.
With WhatFlow, adding a fourth automation or a ninth teammate costs nothing. The plan only moves when your sending does. Our all-features plans comparison explains why we built pricing this way, and current amounts are on the pricing page.
Which is better for selling from the catalog?
This is Zoko's home turf, so it's a fair question. Zoko is built around catalog-led selling and does it well.

WhatFlow covers the same ground for most stores. Agents can share live products from your Meta catalog right inside the inbox, so a "do you have this in olive?" question gets a product card, not a link pasted from another tab. You choose which products sync and trigger the sync yourself. The catalog support guide shows how to keep stock and catalog in line.
When testing WhatFlow and Zoko, ask: Can you send the right product variant from the same conversation? In WhatFlow, share a catalog item in the inbox and test the Shopify checkout link from a sample WhatsApp cart. The catalog walkthrough shows the steps and where Shopify verifies payment.

A typical exchange:
Customer: Is the olive overshirt still available in L? Agent: It is, here it is in L. Want me to send the checkout link?
How do the automations compare?
Zoko automations live in Zoko's builder, and custom ones are billed per flow. WhatFlow's live in Shopify Flow, the automation tool your store probably already uses. WhatFlow adds triggers (incoming message, order reply) and actions (send template, text or media), so WhatsApp becomes one more step in workflows that already tag orders, notify the warehouse or update inventory.
A COD confirmation in WhatFlow, for example, sends a template with Confirm and Cancel buttons. When the buyer taps Confirm, Flow tags the order cod-confirmed. Sidekick can draft the workflow from a plain-English prompt. None of that adds to your bill.
Is the team inbox different?
Both have a shared inbox. WhatFlow's team inbox includes assignment, filters, saved replies and catalog sharing on every plan, with no seat fees. That matters during a sale: you can pull in two extra people for Black Friday week without touching your plan, then step them back afterwards.
When Zoko might still make sense
Pick Zoko if conversational catalog selling is the core of your business and you want a tool designed around that first. Zoko also offers AI, priced separately. WhatFlow has no built-in AI bot, but WhatFlow's MCP connector lets you connect the Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor subscription you already have to draft replies a person approves, with no separate AI charge from WhatFlow.
The bottom line
WhatFlow gives a Shopify team catalog sharing, COD confirmation, Shopify Flow automation and a shared inbox on the Free plan, without seat fees or per-flow charges. Zoko can do much of the same, but the bill grows with every agent past five and every custom flow. Start with WhatFlow, add your whole team, and pay only when your sending grows.
