If you run a Shopify store, choose WhatFlow over Superchat. WhatFlow is a Shopify app with native Shopify Flow triggers and actions, COD confirmation that tags orders and live catalog sharing, every feature is on every plan including Free, and there are no seat fees or annual contracts. Superchat is a polished multichannel inbox, but it charges per extra login, rations automations by plan and reaches Shopify through Zapier or Make.

Both products use the official WhatsApp Cloud API, so this is a choice about cost and Shopify depth, not about compliance. Worth saying plainly: WhatFlow WhatsApp Business API isn't the unofficial small-shop tool some merchants still picture. It runs on the official Meta Cloud API, connects through Meta Embedded Signup in Shopify admin and is built for teams of any size.

Meta's per-message charges apply to both, so they don't close the gap. Our WhatsApp Business API pricing guide covers how Meta bills messages after the October 2026 changes, and WhatFlow's current plans are on the pricing page.

The contract term deserves its own line. A seasonal store that's busy from October to December still pays Superchat for twelve months. WhatFlow lets you move between plans as your sending changes.

Which one fits Shopify workflows better?

Superchat's Shopify page describes order updates, abandoned-cart reminders and stock messages, and lists the integration type as Zapier and Make. That works, but every workflow is a bridge through an outside tool, and Superchat's own automations are counted by plan.

WhatFlow plugs straight into Shopify Flow. Triggers (incoming message, order reply) and actions (send template, text, media) sit next to Shopify's own order, customer and inventory steps. Every plan gets them, including Free, and Shopify Sidekick can draft workflows for you.

Here's a COD confirmation built that way:

Hallo Jana, danke für deine Bestellung #4120 (€64,90, Zahlung bei Lieferung). Sollen wir sie heute verschicken? [Bestätigen] [Stornieren]

A Confirm tap tags the order cod-confirmed; Cancel can flag it for review. The COD reply guide walks through it, and our Flow vs Zapier comparison explains why native beats bridged for day-to-day upkeep.

Is WhatFlow ready for a bigger team?

Yes. WhatFlow's team inbox has assignment, filters, saved replies and live catalog sharing in the conversation. Templates go through Meta's official approval, and Shopify Flow carries the automation load. Seat count never touches the bill.

On Superchat, a 20-person team needs Advanced (€299, 12 logins) plus eight extra logins at €19, which is €451 a month net, locked for a year. On WhatFlow, those 20 people cost nothing in seats.

How do you switch from Superchat to WhatFlow?

Moving is a short checklist, and the order matters:

  1. Install WhatFlow WhatsApp Business API from the Shopify App Store and start on the Free plan.
  2. Connect your WhatsApp number through Meta Embedded Signup inside Shopify admin. If the number is still connected to Superchat, ask them how to release or migrate it first.
  3. Recreate your key templates in WhatFlow's template editor (COD confirmation, abandoned checkout, shipping update) and submit them to Meta for approval.
  4. Check your Superchat contract end date first, since the pricing page lists a 12-month minimum term. Then switch off the Zapier or Make scenarios that send Shopify messages, so nothing fires twice.
  5. Invite your whole team to the inbox. There's no seat fee, so include the warehouse and weekend cover too.
  6. Turn on the theme-matched chat button and send yourself a test order before going live.

When Superchat might still make sense

Pick Superchat if you need one inbox for email, Instagram and webchat as well as WhatsApp, want an AI agent today, or aren't on Shopify. WhatFlow has no built-in AI bot, though WhatFlow's MCP connector lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor draft replies a person approves.

The bottom line

For a Shopify store, WhatFlow is the simpler and far cheaper route to WhatsApp on the official Meta Cloud API. Native Shopify Flow, COD confirmation, catalog sharing, a free-forever theme-matched WhatsApp button and a team inbox with no seat fees all come on the Free plan, with no annual lock-in. Start free and add the whole team.
